OLD vs INNOVATION: what happens to car interiors
Past and innovation are now be comparing and challenging themselves.
What happens to car interiors?
Let’s start from the past.
In the past in order to build car interiors you started from a single and compact block of material and by milling, so subtraction of material, you proceeded to give shape to what will be a real car.
How we proceed today?
We start from a 3D file in which, step by step, are created shapes, lines and interior design. Why do we speak of innovation when we simply add a lift?
Because thanks to innovative software such as Inspire, we can study the constraints and forces that will be applied to a workpiece in order to eliminate unnecessary material in places where there will be no stress.
What does all this mean?
Cost of material savings, saving of production time and innovative design.
What made this possible?
3D printing. Thanks to this in fact, we can create very complex structures with important geometries without worrying about their feasibility. If here we talked about how this distortion has liberated the creativity of architects and designers, today we see this technology as our strategic ally against the waste of material.
Having trouble imagining the change?
That's how we represent innovation and new technologies. A machine for half built in the old way and half built with the new design and 3D printing methods.
