When additive meets subtractive

If you can dream it you can do it. Do you remember what Walt Disney used to say? Well, in Skorpion Engineering this quote is our mantra. 

In August Factory 61, our production center in Trofarello, will start its transformation. We’ll move in a new, modern and amazing factory of about 2000mq in which additive and subtractive technologies will be placed.

A new CNC milling center of 7000x3500x2300 mm will be installed inside Factory 61. This new machine will be able to realize a whole car in 1:1 scale.

Our dream and our Rapid Developing Concept Car project, that will be launched on October, is become true. Whole cars in few weeks will be realized thanks to the dual soul of our production center – additive and subtractive technologies will work together to make the impossible possible.

Our innovative 5 axis milling center is able to work big parts from composites, plastics, aluminium, polystyrene, wood, fiberglass and clay with a maximum speed in X/Y/Z axis of 60/60/30 m/min and a positioning accuracy XYZ of ± 0,0015 mm/m.

And then into Factory 61 will also arrive our new metal sintering machine, Concept Laser.
